RTE, the French electricity transmission system operator, requires a complete inventory of their infrastructures for a better management of the network. In particular, to perform tasks such as:
- Asset management
- Vegetation monitoring
- Damage identification
- Predictive maintenance, etc.
Terra3D and RTE, have been working together since 2017 in order to optimize these tasks by automatic processing of 3D point clouds from powerlines environments.
In 2019, both companies signed a partnership to co-develop, to industrialize and to commercialize the T3D Powerlines solution. This automated solution is currently applied to the whole French network composed of 100,000 km.
